Do you dream of working as a police officer, investigator, prosecutor, defense attorney, or a victims advocate? Do you like helping your community be safe? A career in law enforcement can be exciting and rewarding. Students will learn about law-enforcement-related professions through practical, industry-related experiences—providing students exposure to defensive tactics, statues, police procedures, courtroom procedures, and verbal de escalation so they can graduate with a competitive advantage in their chosen field.
The curriculum will provide the most authentic, industry standard experience that is hands on. Students will review legal systems and procedures through the various elements of the criminal justice system. Covers the functional areas of administration of justice and reviews principles of federal, state, criminal and civil laws as they apply to and affect law enforcement. Techniques for standard law enforcement techniques and practices will be taught by both CTE educators and professionals in their respective fields.
Since the Law Enforcement program prepares students for positions in fields related to law enforcement and public safety, developing and maintaining professional skills is paramount and is a significant element throughout the program.
