FutureForward student with big dreams gets 4Rivers trip

Gabriela “Gaby” Yanez, a senior at Horizon High School and student at FutureForward at Washington Square, has big plans for her future—she wants to become a master diesel technician at 4Rivers Equipment.

Her passion began at home working on cars with her dad. That interest quickly grew from cars to semi-trucks, and eventually to heavy equipment. “I think heavy equipment is a little bit more interesting than just semis,” Gaby says. “My goal as a diesel tech is to work here.”

In April, Gaby got a unique opportunity to explore that dream firsthand with a visit to the 4Rivers Equipment location in Commerce City. During her visit, she met with management, the sales team & parts staff. Gaby was all smiles as she toured the entire facility and even got to operate heavy machinery in the yard.

“It just seems like such a nice place,” she said with a laugh. “I actually got to work on some of the equipment and play with dirt. I just want to learn everything and expand my horizons.”

With Gaby's determination and passion, there’s little doubt she’s well on her way to turning her dream into reality at 4Rivers.
