Welcome to Advanced Medical Sciences II, Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA!
My name is Kathy Blackmon. I am a Registered Nurse and I love teaching CNA!
This will be my 8th year that I have had the privilege to teach at Future Forward at Bollman Technical Educational Center. I am the Program Coordinator. My job as a CNA instructor includes teaching my students the skills to care for their patients with respect and dignity. These skills will open many doors for your future. I have worked with infants as well as patients up to 110 years old. My passion is working with children. I enjoy watching them grow with the knowledge we give them, it is truly amazing. We are lucky to have our student go to clinical's in some amazing places (St. Anthony's North Hospital, Avamere Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, Northglenn Heights Assisted Living and Covenant Village of Westminster). So our students experenience Hospitals Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Rehabilitation and Continuing Care Communities. They are offered jobs in these communities.
I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1996 from Regis University. I am a Colorado native and have lived in Adams county most of my life. I have been happily married since 1996. My husband and I have 3 wonderful kids who are also in Adams 12 5-star district. My oldest son is a senior at University of Colorado Denver where he is pre med, my other son is a 12th grader at Legacy High school, and my daughter is a 7th grader at Hulstrom Options K-8. My family and friends are my life. My hobbies are taking pictures and videos of everything and everyone. My motto is, "Education is Forever". I am so grateful and honored for the opportunity to support your dreams of starting in the medical field. Let’s see where your future will take you!
