Welcome to Medical Science II/CNA!
My name is Alisa Himyak, I am a Registered Nurse - this is my second year teaching Advanced Medical Science/CNA at Future Forward at Bollman. I received my nursing degree from Front Range Community College in 2006, and completed my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2019. My work experience includes medical/surgical nursing and pre-post anesthesia nursing in an acute care setting at a local hospital. I am passionate about quality, safe, compassionate patient care. I am also passionate about incorporating pathophysiology into the CNA course and cultivating an understanding of why the students learn what they learn.
I am a native of Colorado and live in the north area not far from where I grew up. I am married and have two daughters - both graduates of Legacy High School. My oldest daughter earned an associates degree in chemistry and a bachelors degree in biology at Metropolitan State University; my youngest daughter is a senior at University of Colorado pursuing a science degree as well - we are a family of "science nerds". When I am not teaching or taking care of patients I enjoy mountain biking, yoga, spending time with my family and taking every opportunity to "play" outside.
I look forward to teaching and learning from the amazing students at Bollman.
