Job description
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Tear down of existing mechanical systems.
- Assembly of machine components, as necessary.
- Replacement of machine components, as necessary.
- Modification of existing systems, components, or structures, as necessary.
- Installation of new or rebuilt components.
- Rebuild components or assemblies, as necessary.
- Adherence to inventory/warehouse best practices.
- Facilitate in sandblasting, ice blasting, paint and troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Handle shop tools and infrastructures with care.
- Over Head Crane operation.
- Forklift operation.
- Identify and escalate safety issues.
- Understand the innerworkings of equipment systems, circuits, and components.
- Understand the function of the equipment.
- Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by supervisor.
- Picking & packing parts orders as arranged by Mechanical Production Supervisor.
Desired knowledge/skills include Hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, troubleshooting, diesel engines, and the ability to interpret schematics.
Desired traits include: Mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, ability to work in a repair shop environment, integrity, and the ability to perform tasks under pressure in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. Displays ownership of job responsibilities. Seeks continuous improvement in self, team member relationships, and processes. Cost conscious.
Requirements: Valid driver's license, submit to random drug & alcohol tests, understanding of general warehouse safety. Able to work on a team and adapt to changing demands. Positive attitude and common sense. The ability to lift to 80 lbs. and climb on/under machines. Some experience with equipment repair. Knowledge & proper use of hand tools. Ability to Learn general repair facility safety practices and LOTO procedures. Encore provides basic hand tools, i.e., multi-meter, hex wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, ratchets, box wrenches, etc. Able to work closely and learn from experienced technicians.

Service Assistant
Summary
Custom Truck One Source has an opening for a Service Assistant. The Service Assistant will report to the Service Manager and must have a strong attendance record. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Write up RO requests on returned rental equipment and install rental equipment status tags.
- Clean interior of rental equipment and wash equipment as well as occasionally clean/wash external service equipment as directed by service manager.
- Apply customer decal kits as directed and remove customer decals from rental returns.
- Assist service techs as well as yard personnel with equipment pickup and delivery whenever needed.
- Assist technicians at the tire machine, whenever needed.
- Maintain shop equipment and appropriate staging/storage locations, including the tire machine area and scissor lift.
- Perform maintenance on yard pickup trucks and any other assets as requested.
- Make emergency parts pickup runs as needed.
- Pre-stage equipment to be brought in for repairs as directed by service management.
- Daily shop trash pickup with forklift/dumpster and properly dispose of old parts/materials staged outside of the shop building as needed.
- Keep nut & bolt bin area and shop supply cabinets neat & organized.
- Keep one bag of oil dry at the base of each jib crane pedestal and replenish as needed.
- Monitor plastic seat protectors, paper floor mat, and oil spill mat stock and replenish as needed.
- Maintain and clean the waste oil disposal area and sweep walkway from Bay 1 to the parts warehouse, under the stairs & locker room hallway, weekly or as needed.
- Maintain shop hand wash stations and soap dispensers.
- Clean shop doors, windows, and ceiling fans as needed, when time allows.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous related experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Must have your own tools

- General mechanical aptitude and experience with parts required. Knowledge of hydraulic, heavy equipment, diesel truck and/or farm equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing a positive service experience. This includes internal client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Attitude: This job requires "people" skills and a genuine desire to service the client. A positive attitude and willingness to maintain a professional demeanor with clients and team members is essential to this position

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements
- Ability to see things in close proximity whether through natural or corrected vision
- Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts
- Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operation
- Frequent lifting (60-100lbs), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 10ft, significant stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8-12 hours day, and up to 60 hours per week.
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 8 hours per day

Equipment Operator

Operators should have experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, haul trucks, etc. and are experienced in various aspects of excavation, compacted fills, mining and reclamation. Operators may be required to operate all machines at various times as well as work with installation of pipe, concrete, geotextile liners, culvert or other related activities. Experience with grade control and smart equipment a plus.
