Grade(s): 10, 11, 12

Credit(s): 2.0

Meets: 2 periods a day

Location: FutureForward at Bollman

Auto Body Collision Repair Technicians find their skills increasingly valued as more vehicles fill the roads and a greater number of traffic accidents damage these vehicles. As OEM vehicles continue to incorporate sophisticated new materials and increasingly complex design technologies in their vehicles, the collision repair industry will face an ongoing need for repair technicians. Students in FutureForward’s Auto Body Collision Repair program will learn to assess the damage, remove and install parts, remove dents, replace sections, and paint the car body. In addition, students learn how to estimate a repair job and obtain the entrepreneurial skills to operate their own business. Collision repair and refinishing is a challenging, lucrative, and rewarding career, especially as vehicles become more diverse and high-tech in their construction. All students will have the opportunity to obtain an industry-relevant I-CAR certification. I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Body Collision Repair, plays a major role in supplying the industry with well-trained, knowledgeable, and highly employable collision repair professionals.
