Video Production 3 & 4

Pathway: Media Arts


Grades: 11, 12
Credit: 2 Fine/Practical Arts or Elective

Video Production 3 & 4 is an advanced, project-based course designed for students who have successfully completed Video Production 1 & 2. This class focuses on mastery of advanced cinematography, audio, lighting, directing, and post-production workflows using professional-grade mirrorless cameras, cinema rigs, and the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and more).

Students will create professional-level projects that mirror industry expectations. Assignments include a Documentary, a Movie Trailer, and a Final Short Film, as well as specialized exercises in directing, sound design, VFX, Foley, and AI integration in filmmaking. The course culminates with a public screening at the Future Forward Film Festival and preparation for Adobe Premiere Pro Certification.

Learning Outcomes: 

●  Master advanced cinematography techniques including lens selection, camera rigs, and dynamic range management

●  Direct actors and crew effectively on set

●  Apply advanced audio recording and mixing techniques including foley and sound design

●  Execute color correction, grading, and advanced editing workflows in Adobe Premiere Pro

           ●  Utilize After Effects for motion graphics, rotoscoping, and compositing

           ●  Plan, produce, and deliver professional-quality films from concept to final export

           ●  Demonstrate leadership and professionalism in production environments

           ●  Prepare for and complete Adobe Premiere Pro Certification

Notes: 

Students may have the opportunity to earn college credits.
