
Video Production 1 & 2
Pathway: Media Arts
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Credit: 2 Fine/Practical Arts or Elective
This hands-on, project-based course introduces students to the art and craft of television, video, and film production. Students will be actively involved in creating dynamic, cinematic projects while learning to use professional mirrorless cameras, studio lighting, audio gear, and the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and more).
Projects emphasize storytelling, technical skill, and collaboration, culminating in a public screening at the FutureForward Film Festival and Awards Ceremony.
Learning outcomes:
● Operate professional-grade cameras and production equipment
● Apply cinematic composition, framing, and movement techniques
● Capture and mix high-quality audio
● Edit using Adobe Premiere Pro with industry-standard workflows
● Create visual effects, color correction, and sound design with Adobe tools
● Format and write scripts, plan shoots, and manage production schedules
● Work collaboratively in production teams
● Investigate career opportunities in media arts
