Pathway: Arts & Design / Media Arts
Grades: 10, 11, 12
Credit: 2 Fine/Practical Arts or Elective
Course work and projects are developed to equip each student with a comprehensive understanding and the essential skills needed to become a proficient and knowledgeable visual designer. Projects are designed to increase students’ artistic abilities, provide a variety of perspectives for visual problem-solving, and expand critical and creative thinking.
Using a variety of industry-standard practices, students will engage in a structured design process that includes research, ideation, prototyping, and testing. Students will gain proficiency with industry-standard technologies, including the Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Projects will span a range of media, including brand identity, photo manipulation, motion graphics, social media advertising, packaging, and print collateral (posters, brochures, banners), preparing students for an evolving creative landscape.
Notes:
● Students may have the opportunity to earn college credits.
Supplies required:
- Sketch book or journal
- 32 GB or larger flash drive
- Portfolio
- Refillable or disposable artist inking pen
Course fee: $40.00
