Behavioral and Mental Health 5 & 6

Grades: 12
Credit: 2 Fine/Practical Arts/Elective

In this advanced course students will:

Continue to expand their knowledge in all concepts introduced in level 3 & 4 courses. Students will study personality theory and abnormal psychology with opportunities for additional college credit. In addition there will be differentiated in-the-field placements providing hands-on learning opportunities. They will also work to solidify their Motivational Interviewing Skills as well as develop clarity in using the DSM-5 and DSM-5TR in various fields in relation to mental health diagnosis.

Counseling Notes:

1. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Introduction to Behavior and Mental Health 1 & 2

2. Concurrent enrollment in PSY 2440 (Human Growth and Development) and PSY 2221 (Social Psychology)
