This course offers students an in-depth introduction to the world of aviation and aerospace, exploring the history, physics, and technology that make flight possible. Through engaging, hands-on experiences—including flight planning, navigation, weather analysis, and operation of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)—students gain a practical understanding of modern aviation. While drones serve as a major tool for learning, the course is designed for any student interested in aviation, whether their goals include piloting, air traffic control, engineering, meteorology, or other aerospace careers. Students will also prepare for and may have the opportunity to earn their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.

Notes: Students may have the opportunity to earn college credits.

  • TI 83 calculator- recommended
  • Black or Blue ink pen- no pencils

Counseling Notes:

1. Students that complete this course may have the opportunity to earn FAA Part 107 certification. This certification may be used to demonstrate competency for new graduation guidelines.
