Credit: 0.5 Fine/Practical Arts or Elective
In this hands-on and thought-provoking course, students explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the world around them - and their own futures. Through real-world examples and creative projects, students learn how AI systems are built, trained and applied to solve problems, while examining their benefits, limitations, and ethical implications. They gain practical experience using AI tools to generate ideas, identify patterns in data, and evaluate outputs critically and responsibly. From personal assistants and recommendation systems to robotics and generative models, students uncover how AI is shaping industries, influencing daily life, and raising new questions about creativity, privacy, and human oversight. By the end of the course, students will not only understand how AI works, but also how to use it thoughtfully to make a positive impact on their communities.
