Career Exploration Day – March 18th

On March 18th, students participated in our Career Exploration Day, a dynamic event designed to expose them to real-world careers in public safety and forensic science. Some of the incredible departments and professionals who shared their expertise included:

Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office – Medicolegal death investigation and autopsy technician presentations

Denver Office of the Medical Examiner – Family Advocate Coordinator

ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) – Federal investigations

Broomfield Police Department – Victim Services, CSI, Detention Division, Mental Health Co-Response Unit (BCORE), Code Compliance, and K9 Unit

TPD (Thornton Police Department) – Training Unit, Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU), and Child Crimes Detectives

Aurora Police Department – Crime Scene Investigators and CSI Supervisor

Students benefited from hearing real career journeys, asking thoughtful questions, and getting hands-on with tools and techniques used in the field. The experience inspired many to consider new pathways, gain clarity on their goals, and better understand the responsibilities and rewards of careers in public safety.
