Learning to Respond: CNA Students Gain Essential Emergency Skills

Our Advanced Medical Science-CNA students are off to a great start this year! We are currently wrapping up our Fire Safety, Emergencies, and First Aid unit and have been very busy.

Some of the skills include Life Support/CPR certification, learned how to evacuate clients from a facility in case of a fire, and had an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with fire extinguishers. Joel Sherry, our Fire Fighting instructor from FutureForward at Washington Square, worked with our students on how to safely and effectively put out a real fire! Everyone did an amazing job and is ready to act in case of an emergency.

Our CNA students are engaged, focused, and eager to learn all of the skills necessary to be effective healthcare professionals in our community. We are excited to watch their growth throughout the year!
